just sheer vintage class. This lil '58 Ragtop
sunroof bugger is
in excellent near mint condition, it has been garage kept with
newly rebuilt 1600cc engine. (Oh
She Purrs!!), just about 12000 miles or so on her so far.
Just Beautiful! New resto
from this past month.
Car is in
fantastic shape! Incredibly
clean underneath on pans and in fenders and in wheel
wells. Please take a look at the pics, I show what I did
to rust proof this car, POR-15 rust proof paint
throughout. A new pan was welded in under the
battery, the rest of the pans were rock solid along with
the original heater channels.
As compared to some of my other VWs, this one really
stands out, super clean underneath, just an awesome
vintage bug, one of my best if not the best work I have
done. Blood, sweat, and tears went into this baby,
real sad to see it go my friends.
EXTERIOR: Painted a black cherry, some call it eggplant,
or plum, I tried to get close to the color offered in
1951 and '52 called Bordeaux Red, which was L51.
Paint job is beautiful, with base and clear coat and
some pearl within it. Car was stripped down to
bear metal and gutted for prep, I show the resto pics in
the montage.
This is a future award
winner you got here my friends, actually won a trophy
already this season.
Much of the car still smells fresh
from the resto, never abused.
NO RUST! Great show car. The body is
structurally sound, from the floor pans to the heater
channels, no holes, no rot, NADDA.
